This extremely lush flower still life by Konstantin Stoitzner depicts three magnificent vases filled with flowers sitting on a table in a Golden Lane, its excessive fences framing the bunches beautifully, while tops of trees far in the background are visible. The left vase is filled with a colourfully mixed summer bunch of poppy, daisies and cornflower. The middle one bears dense white, rosé and red roses. The smalles glass vase features a combination of white and red carnations. This extraordinarily marvelous folwer still life enchants with its bright as well as delicate colour scheme and its virtuously performed painting. The painting is signed at the bottom left, “Konstantin Stoitzner”. It is in very good condition but clearly shows crazing. The beautiful ordained frame shows minor traces of age and usage. The stretcher bar measures 120 x 80 cm, the overall dimensions are 140 x 100 cm. Konstantin Stoitzner (1863 – 1934) Landscape painter Konstantin Stoitzner studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Chr. Griepenkerl and A. Eisenmenger. In 1909 he was awarded the Austrian medal of State, in 1915 he received the honorary price of Vienna City. He was honorary member of the Austrian Artists Association and regularily sent his works to its exhibitions, and he was also chairman of the “Wiener Heimatkunst” ( = Viennese Home Art) association.
