WINSLOW HOMER (1836 - 1910) American artist, a naturalist painter who became most famous for his views of the American landscape and most notably for his seascapes of the Maine coast. A.N.S. ''W. Homer' 1p. 8vo., [n.p., n.d.] to Fred W. Newcomb apparently concerning his subscription to the Boston Herald noting that "...I have not seen one for some time" and adding, in a short postscript at top margin: "Hope you did not ast. your wizard yesterday -- in calling Clifford". With original transmittal envelope addressed in his hand and delivered "By messenger ". Light folds, a few minor foxed spots, else fine.
