Bach's subject is the super woman, here represented in bright and bold colour application, in the appearance of a diva with facial warpaint and a strawberry in the centre of the composition. In one of Bach's erotic paintings; women are represented active and passionate. The image delivers a moving feeling - characteristic for the so-called Berlin style of the time. The image is signed and dated in pencil on lower right 'Bach 93'. The condition of the work is very good. The dimensions are 41.6 x 29.6 cm. Elvira Bach (born 1951) Elvira Bach was born in 1951 in Neuenhain. She is a German postmodern painter and well known for her colourful depictions of women. Bach studied at the State Glass School Hadamar and at the Berlin University of the Arts. She undertook study trips to the Dominican Republic, Senegal, Saint Lucia, and Italy. She took part at documenta 7 in 1982. Bach is a member of the art movement Junge Wilde. She lives and works in Berlin today.
