Raduan Man favours a synthesis of media to project his imaginative approach in making art, combining printmaking and painting. The process of making art is an instinctive journey of discovery whereby objects, colours and shapes intersect and are continuously rearranged. Through this series of large-scale canvases, Raduan contemplates on the surge of ground-breaking mechanical transport initially developed for military purposes. The outbreak of World War II between the Axis and Allies led to the rapid assembling and development of aircraft, tanks, jeeps, and cars for moving troops and equipment across large territories. An array of automobiles and cargo planes are illustrated here, showing the artist's skilful adaptation of printmaking techniques onto canvas. Raduan Man is one of the few artists with a double Masters: University of Wolverhampton (Painting, 2003) and Camberwell School of Art (Printmaking, 2006). He graduated with a BFA from the Universiti ITM in 2000. His awards include the Juror's Award in the Tanjung Heritage competition in 2002. He had several solos since his first at the NN Gallery called Fresh Markings in 2003. His artworks had been selected for Sotheby's Hong Kong auction sale for few times, and the pieces usually fetched good prices.
