작품 상세
Found in the grasslands and tropical forests in Africa and Asia, the Rhinoceros is one the largest mammals on land. Using an earthy palette, Raduan portrays the thick silver-grey texture of the rhino skin formed by dense layers of collagen. Their highly sought after horns are made from compressed keratin fibres and are used for defending territory and protecting their calves. Raduan Man is one of the few artists with a double Masters: University of Wolverhampton (Painting, 2003) and Camberwell School of Art (Printmaking, 2006). He graduated with a BFA from the Universiti ITM in 2000. His awards include the Juror's Award in the Tanjung Heritage competition in 2002. He had several solos since his first at the NN Gallery called Fresh Markings in 2003. His artworks had been selected for Sotheby's Hong Kong auction sale for few times, and the pieces at times fetched good prices. His solo exhibition Post-Contemporary Woodcut: Lines Of Labour was held in 2022.
