REMBRANDT HARMENSZ. VAN RIJN (Leiden 1606–1669 Amsterdam) The stoning of Saint Stephen. 1635. Etching on laid paper. Signed and dated in the plate lower left: Rembrandt f. 1635. 9.8 x 8.7 cm. Framed. Bartsch 97; Hinterding/Rutgers (New Hollstein) 140 probably I (of IV). - Excellent, strong, contrasted and clear impression with a fine margin around the plate edge. Upper left margin with a minute tear. A single small spot at the upper right edge. Verso, secured along the upper edge with mounting tape in a mount. Verso slightly soiled and with traces of removed mounting in places along the margins. Overall in good condition. ------------------------------------------------- REMBRANDT HARMENSZ. Bartsch 97; Hinterding/Rutgers (New Hollstein) 140 wohl I (von IV). - Hervorragender, kräftiger, kontrastreicher und klarer Druck mit feinem Rändchen um die Plattenkante. Am linken Rand oben mt winzigem Einriss. Einzelnes Fleckchen am oberen Rand rechts. Von der Rückseite am oberen Rand mit Montierungsband in einem Passepartout fixiert. Verso etwas angeschmutzt und an den Rändern punktuell mit Resten von entfernter Montierung. Insgesamt in schöner Erhaltung.
