REMBRANDT HARMENSZ. VAN RIJN (Leiden 1606–1669 Amsterdam) A peasant family on the tramp. Circa 1652. Etching on laid paper. 11.3 x 9.3 cm (sheet size: 12.4 x 10 cm). Framed. Bartsch 131; Hinterding/Rutgers (New Hollstein) 266 II (of III). - Good, clear and largely even impression with plate tone and margins around the plate edge. A few insignificant small spots; minor discolouration in the lower right corner. Minor signs of age and handling. Verso, secured along the upper edge with mounting tape in a mount. Verso slightly browned and with traces of adhesive from a removed old mounting in places along the outer sheet edges. Bartsch 131; Hinterding/Rutgers (New Hollstein) 266 II (von III). - Schöner, klarer und überwiegend gleichmässiger Druck mit Plattenton und umlaufend mit Rand um die Plattenkante. Einzelne unbedeutende Fleckchen, kleine Verfärbung in der unteren rechten Ecke. Leichte Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren. Rückseitig am oberen Rand mit Montierungsband in einem Passepartout fixiert. Verso leicht gebräunt und an den äusseren Blattkanten stellenweise mit Spuren von Kleberresten einer entfernten alten Montierung. Insgesamt in schöner Erhaltung.
