Henry Glintenkamp (1887-1946) Original Etching of Anna Povlova as a Young Ballerina *RARE* (Est. $5000+)- The painter and illustrator Henry Glintenkamp (1887-1946) is known mainly for his anti-war illustrations that appeared in The Masses and other publications in the early twentieth century. He was an "anti-romantic" artist that was strongly against WWI, and was in love with Anna Pavlova ( a very famous ballerina). That is part of what makes this piece so special, as he would later flee to Mexico with her to avoid the draft. This piece is a depiction of his love's younger years as a ballerina, and is the opposite of his known artist style. Measures: 10.75" x 8.25" (includes frame). The piece also comes with a story about the artist on the back of the frame. Estimated retail value: $5000-$5500 (there are no other known pieces like this one, and this piece belongs in an art museum).
