It depicts twelve soldiers of the Bolivian military marching in step with raised rifles. The modern print is in good condition with minimal traces of wear. It bears two stamps of GRAUWERT Hamburg, one of them with the numbering of the edition ‘1/12’ and the artist estate stamp. The dimensions of the photograph are 30 x 40 cm and the overall dimensions with mat are 40 x 50 cm. Rosemarie Pierer (1918-2012) The German Photographer Rosemarie Pierer was born in Bernburg, but moved to Hamburg in 1949, where she founded her own studio. The famous photograph and model Inge Schönthal, later Feltrinelli, was trained by the Grande Dame of German photography in the 1950s. Pierer worked for the ‘Thalia-Theater’ and for many different companies, such as Beiersdorf, Deutsche Airbus, Philips, Chamber of Commerce in Hamburg, Maico. In her last years she concentrated again on portrait-photographs, among others Architect Hadi Teherani and former chancellor Helmut Schmidt.
