This night photograph of the Brandenburg Gate created Rosemarie Pierer in the 1950s. At the young age of eight it was her biggest wish to get her own camera. Pierer is known for her photographs that are beautiful in the combination of highest technical standards with artful composition. The photograph is verso inscribed with pencil 'Pierer' and bears the photographer's stamp. The photograph is besides slight traces of wear in good condition. The dimensions are 22.2 x 27 cm. Rosemarie Pierer (1918-2012) The German Photographer Rosemarie Pierer was born in Bernburg, but moved to Hamburg in 1949, where she founded her own studio. The famous photograph and model Inge Schönthal, later Feltrinelli, was trained by the Grande Dame of German photography in the 1950s. Pierer worked for the 'Thalia-Theater' and for many different companies, such as Beiersdorf, Deutsche Airbus, Philips, Chamber of Commerce in Hamburg, Maico. In her last years she concentrated again on portrait-photographs, among others Architect Hadi Teherani and former chancellor Helmut Schmidt.
