M. V. Dhurandhar was an Indian Painter and postcard artist from the British Colonial era. Mahadev Viswanath Dhurandhar (1867 - 1944) was active/lived in India. Among his most popularpaintings are his illustrations of average colonial-era woman. He also painted scenes from Mahabharata, on Radha and Krishna, marriage ceremony and many more. Dhurandhar's style eloquently combines classical western academictraining with traditional Indian craftsmanship and Hindu iconography. This painting is probadly from early 20th century. Oil on board. Image 31 inches x 18 inches. Unframed. Provenance: Acquired locally in Chicago by well known art collectorfamily in 2001 and has been a part of family collection. Now acollection Quincy Mass.
