James P. Kerr (NC/FL, b. 1953), Bellow's Falls, Vermont oil on linen, signed at lower left, inscribed on the verso, framed by the artist. SS 39.5 x 39.5 in.; DOA 43 x 43 in. Born in Buffalo, NY, James Kerr began his art studies at a young age. Two of his greatest mentors were Lazlo Szabo, a renowned portrait painter and Carl Illig, a prominent landscape painter. He describes his work as all about "capturing a moment in time." One of his paintings was recently selected by the U.S. Department of State for an Art in Embassies exhibition in Muscat, Oman.
