Gervais Emmanuel Ducasse (Haitian/Port-au-Prince, 1903-1988), En Gros Cochon En Suite (Cochon Creole w/Man), circa 1970's, Oil on masonite, 12 x 9 3/4 inches, framed 13 7/8 x 12 1/8 inches. Lot essay: Prior to becoming an artist, Ducasse worked for a governmental agriculture agency. He is renowned for historical and musical scenes. On a US sojourn, one of several, he painted narrative Haitian events with wintry upstate New York backgrounds.
