Gervais Emmanuel Ducasse (Haitian/Port-au-Prince, 1903-1988) "Les Musiciens Dans Les Bandes de Vaccines RaRas" (The Musicians of the RaRa Vaccine Band), circa 1970's Oil on masonite, Unframed, 12" x 16" Prior to becoming an artist, Ducasse worked for a governmental agriculture agency. He is renowned for historical and musical scenes. On a US sojourn, one of several, he painted narrative Haitian events with wintry upstate New York backgrounds.
