The current highest auction record for a similar painting by Weiler is €50,000 Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 30,000 Euro Max Weiler’s works are abstract compositions, based on his examination of movements in the painting process and the flow of colors and binders. Weiler’s non-objective works are almost unconscious and random constellations which are also influenced by his interest in Chinese art. Condition: The painting is in very good condition, showing only the lightest signs of use along the edges. The dimensions are 41 x 50.5 cm. Max Weiler (1910-2001) Max Weiler studied under the guidance of Karl Sterrer (1885-1972) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Later the artist himself taught in Vienna and in Telfs and Zams near Landeck. Not only did Max Weiler leave an epochal artistic Oeuvre, but he is also one of his generation‘s most important European draughtsmen. In over seventy years of creative activity, he created approximately 3,500 graphic works of all kinds of formats and techniques, in which the artist manifests his individual cosmos – the ideal of merging of inner and outer nature.
