It shows an abstracted landscape with a rural residence and various plants. The drawing demonstrates impressively how Weiler succeeds with most independent solutions in every graphic technique. Lower right, the picture is signed with "Max Weiler". The drawing is in very good condition. The frame shows traces of age and use. The dimensions are 33 x 43cm. Max Weiler (1910-2001) Max Weiler studied under Karl Sterrer (1885-1972) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Later the artist himself taught in Vienna and in Telfs and Zams near Landeck. Not only did Max Weiler leave an epochal artistic Oeuvre, but he is also one of his generation‘s most important European painters. In over seventy years of creative activity, he created approximately 3,500 graphic pieces of all kinds of formats and techniques. Therein, the artist converts his individual cosmos – the ideal of merging inner and outer nature. Vienna’s Albertina museum alone owns over a hundred of Weiler‘s paintings and print graphics.
