DESCRIPTION: Abraham Straski (Polish, 1903-1987). Oil on canvas. Portrait of a Rabbi. Signed in upper right corner "A. Straski". In gold painted wooden frame with corner detail. Straski was a Polish born painter who immigrated to the United States after surviving the concentration camps during the Holocaust. As he grew up, he became close with the Rabbis from his local community who taught him violin, cello, and Torah. He draws inspiration from these Rabbis for his artwork. MEASUREMENTS: 9-5/8" x 7-5/8". Overall with frame 17-1/8" x 15-1/8". CONDITION: Light surface wear to frame.
