Willroider' With estate stamp 'Aus dem Nachlass Ludwig Willroider' on the reverse Dimensions: 24.5 x 36 cm Broad golden frame: 42 x 52.5 cm Good condition Willroider shows a landscape with grazing cows, executed in loose brushstrokes, making the influence of Impressionism significantly more distinct Influenced by plein air painting Willroiders early landscapes visualize a harmonious treatment of light and shades. Around the turn of the century the influence of Impressionism becomes more significant, characterized by rather loose and quickly set brushstrokes. Condition: The oil painting is overall in good condition with partial overpainting in the trees, minor abrasions at the edges. The image dimensions are 24.5 x 36 cm, the frame dimensions 42 x 52.5 cm. Ludwig Willroider (1845-1910) Ludwig Willroider was born in Austrian Carinthia in 1845. He received his first painting lessons by his brother Josef Willroider. In the mid-1860s he left Austria to study at the Academy in Munich where he was educated and inspired by Eduard Schleich the Elder (1812-1874) and Adolf Lier (1826-1882). In addition, he belonged to the circle of Christian Friedrich Mali (1832-1906) and Anton Braith (1836-1905). Willroider received several awards for his exhibitions in the Munich Glass Palace. In 1883 he became an honorary member of the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
