Signed and titled in brown ink, upper stretcher bar verso. Provenance: private Massachusetts collection. This colorful view of Menemsha is an early example of the artist's oil painting on Martha's Vineyard. Her Indian Shops, Gay Head, Massachusetts, 1940, is in the collection of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
