It was created in his homeland village called "Nor Nakhijevan" (now part of Rostov on Don). The work was done with funny spiritual mood and the portrait of the author's closest friend. Subject art work was painted on 1904 with black and grey colors. The year of 1904 was creative, artistic and experimental year for the artist, where 24 year old Martiros Saryan studied at the Moscow School of Arts, including in the workshops of Valentin Serov and Konstantin Korovin.
