Attributed to John Constable RA, three cows in foreground and six figures in a wooded clearing, oil on canvas, 20"h x 30"w. The painting was discovered in early 1900s from Greenwich CT estate of Dr. John A McCreery, it was covered over by another work, then discovered, relined and cleaned. This is noted in the 1964 appraisal for $12,000 by Gordon Schmit, art curator of the Bruce Museum.
