As always, the most reliable basis for attribution is the artist's hand. Very close comparisons can be seen in the clouds over trees (R 21.54) and in the foliage inR 26.4. Most definitive is the handling of the two figures and ducks in your sketch. Constable's hand in such details has never been successfully copied or imitated by others. For comparison, I note especially the figures at the lower-right inthe view Looking over to Harrow R. 21.6.4 and the ducks in the view of Gillingham Mill, R26.4.
