Black chalk with brown wash on laid paper, 17th century. A drawing in enlarged format after the 1622 drawing by Esaias van de Velde in the Rijksmuseum. With a signature H. Saftleven lower left in black chalk, later traced in brown ink. The added cottage in the right background recalls the works of Bloemaert and Bolswert. A fine period drawing in Dutch landscape tradition. I added info on the Van de Velde drawing as last image.
