Witkacy was a Polish avant-garde artist who offered his patrons drug-assisted works; hisdrawings include a note in the corner detailing what was taken - or not taken. Framed and matted under glass. Sight area approximately: 21.5" x 27.5"; Frame: 24.5" x 30.5"; Painting is framed and matted beneathglass; Provenance: On verso: label from Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, from exhibition while on loan from Musee de Tatras, Zakopane, Poland. Label from art show of Witkacy paintings in the cultural centerof Warsaw, dated and signed by director. Very good condition.
