It is in good condition with only occasional tiny foxing. The sheet dimensions are 12.7 x 9.5 cm, the passepartout measures 39 x 32 cm. Richard Oelze (1900-1980) Richard Oelze was born in Magdeburg in 1900. He studied at the Bauhaus in Weimar under Johannes Itten. After his graduation he worked in Dresden, Ascona and Paris where he made the acquaintance with André Breton, Salvador Dalí, Paul Éluard and Max Ernst and thus came into contact with surrealism. In 1945 he settled in Worpswede. In 1959 and 1964, he participated in the documenta in Kassel and a year later became a full member of the Academy of Arts in Berlin.
