THE BULLFINCH The bullfinch is an example of a cross-country eventing fence. Made of a solid base with brush on top, it is similar to a hurdle in that it is designed to be jumped through rather than over. Due to the height of the brush, the horse cannot see through to the other side. Therefore, the fence tests the horse's trust in his rider.
