Jonathan Meese (b. 1970) Jonathan Robin Meese was born in 1970 in Tokyo. Due to his eccentric appearance and his diverse work, Meese is one of Germany's best known contemporary artists. He lives in Ahrensburg and Berlin. Meese's work includes painting, sculpture, installation, performance, collage, video art and theater works. From 1995 to 1998, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg with Franz Erhard Walther.
