Property of a Massachusetts Gentleman Jessie Willcox Smith (American, 1863-1935) Bobbing for Apples Pencil on paper Unsigned 17 x 13 inches This drawing directly descended from the artist, Jessie Willcox Smith (and the "Red Rose Girls"), to the owner's great grandmother, Anna Blanchard Blakiston, and great grandfather, Frank Miles Day, a prominent Philadelphia architect and founding trustee of the American Academy in Rome in 1894. Provenance: Given directly by the artist to Frank Miles Day and Anna Blanchard Blakiston; Thence by descent to the present owner. $3,000-5,000
