JOHN ROGERS (AMERICAN, 1839-1904) "TAKING THE OATH AND DRAWING RATIONS" CIVIL WAR PLASTER STATUE, cast-plaster with a patinated surface depicting a Southern woman and her son taking the oath to receive food rations from the Union Army, an enslaved boy watches over the exchange. Impressed "JOHN ROGERS / NEW YORK." and "PATENTED / JAN 30 1866." Dated 1866. 23 1/4" HOA, 12 1/2" WOA, 8 3/4" DOA.
