Ceramic painted in brown and black on white emamel,, glazed. With knife decoration. From an edition of 500. Height 26 cm. On the underside with the stamps: Madoura Plein Feu as well as Edition Picasso. Also inscribed: Edition Picasso Madoura. Picasso famously owned a pet owl which he kept in his studio and created many works in its likeness. To Picasso, owls were symbols of wisdom and creativity, qualities whichhe hoped to encompass within his artistic identity.
