Berenbrock' Verso inscribed Overall dimensions, framed: 66.5 x 53 cm Good condition Provenance: From the estate of the artist A exceptional painting of the Bauhaus-co-founder and pupil of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, whose art works are a true rarity on the international art market This work by Bauhaus artist Otto Berenbrock was created in mixed media and depicts an abstract composition in contrasting red and blue coloured fields. Furthermore, relief-like lines appear mainly in the red coloured area that is also crossed by a strap of black, white and yellow colourd fields. The painting is signed lower right 'Berenbrock' and is in a good condition, showing slight signs of age and wear. Titled and dated on verso 'Kontraste 1. Acryl 1967' and inscribed with the name of the artist with address and telephone number. The image measures 63.5 x 50 cm, the overall dimensions including the frame, are 66.5 x 53 cm. Otto Berenbrock (1907-1968) The German artist and illustrator Otto Berenbrock was a co-founder of the Bauhaus art movement in Germany and a pupil of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. Some of his pen and ink drawings have been published in 'Tierfabeln' by Hans-Winfried von Stockhausen.
