MANDELA NELSON: (1918-2013) South African President 1994-99, Nobel Peace Prize winner, 1993. An excellent signed colour 12 x 8 photograph of Mandela in a reflective semi-profile head and shoulders pose with one hand placed around the white bar of the window in his cell at Robben Island prison. Signed in bold black ink to a clear area of the image and dated 14th May 2003 in his hand. About EX The present image was captured in 1994 when Mandela returned to the cell where he had spent eighteen of the twenty-seven years he was imprisoned.

MANDELA NELSON: (1918-2013) President of South Africa 1994-99. Nobel Peace Prize winner, 1993. A good signed 8 x 10 photograph of Mandela in an unusual head and shoulders pose wearing a pair of boxing gloves on his raised hands, as he smiles and playfully adopts a boxing stance before the camera. Signed by Mandela in bold blue ink to a clear area of the image and dated 9th October 2000 in his hand. EX Mandela held a lifelong interest in boxing and during the 1930s had trained in the sport at the Donaldson Orlando Community Centre (Soweto YMCA).
