RENOIR’S LIST OF PAINTINGS SENT TO 1886 EXHIBITION. Autograph Document Signed twice (“Renoir”), 1 p, 8vo (with integral blank leaf), n.p., December 27, 1885, being a list of paintings he is sending to “l’exposition des XX a Bruxelles,” leaf moderately toned and thumbed, light spotting to blank leaf. Renoir lists the four paintings he is sending to “l’exposition des XX a Bruxelles,” held February 6 through March 7, 1886; the list includes some of his best known works, including “Portrait of Madame Charpentier and her Children” and “Portrait of Mademoiselle M.B. (Marguerite-Therese Berand)," both today in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum, and “Portrait of Madame Clapisson,” today in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. See illustration.
