Mounting Love at the Snowbound Barrier Woodblock Print on Washi Paper Artist Seal ( Ue Naito Gyobu) 7 3/4 x 21 inches (paper) 13 x 26 inches (frame) The print depicts a scene from the play Mounting Love at the Snowbound Barrier (Tsumoru koi yuki no seki no to). Ono no Komachi (left) pays a visit to her fiancé, Yoshimine Munesada (right), who is at home playing the koto. Sekibei (centre), with his large axe placed on bales of straw, stands beneath the bowing branches of a cherry tree in spring bloom.  Overall good condition. Frey to perimeter. Minor creases and small area of loss to the paper upper left.
