Silver filigree casket. Indo-Portuguese workshop. Goa. Late 17th century. 7,5 x 8,5 x 5 cm. A marvelous jewelry box, made entirely of silver filigree, with intricate floral decoration. It rests on four small legs. We find examples of comparable silver filigree boxes from Goa, for example, in the Asian Civilizations Museum (no. 2011-02266), and a box was exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum on the occasion of the exhibition “Sultans of Deccan India” in 2015 .
