Authentic Senninbari TIGER BELT of a Thousand Stitches with Japanese Coins sewn in. These belts of a thousand stitches were traditionally sewn by 1000 different women and given as an amulet to soldiers on their way to war as a part of the Shinto culture of Imperial Japan. The tiger was a popular image sewn into the Senninbari because they were known to be able to roam far away from home and then return safely. This belt is in wonderful condition with some signs of age, and has been preserved under glass and framed.
