작품 상세

The blade is narrow, triangular, with a reinforced medial ridge, tapering to a sharp point designed for effective thrusting. The socket is long, cylindrical, with a spiral fluted pattern and decorative bands, made entirely of steel, a feature common in high-status Mughal weapons. Wootz or high-carbon steel, now oxidized; surface exhibits dark patina and light pitting consistent with great age. Indicative of northern Indian or Deccan arsenal production. The spiral design on the socket was both aesthetically pleasing and provided a grip when bound to a wooden shaft. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
