Oil on canvas 40X30. My husband has enjoyed an extensive study of wine, and during summers our family would meet in the Napa wine country. While I respected their enjoyment of wine, I was more attracted to the beautiful gardens which surround the wineries. These gardens usually include a wonderful variety of roses and my time was spent photographing these charming specimens. There is a reason for the abundance of roses in the vineyards; diseases that attack the grapes will show up on the roses first. These paintings that are created when I return to my studio are also fond memories of the times when our family can enjoy being together.
