Akbar Padamsee (Indian, 1928 - 2020), an oil on canvas painting depicting a male and a female. Signed and dated upper left: 'Padamsee 2001.' We do not have the COA and only attribute this lot to Akbar Padamsee. Note: Akbar Padamsee is known for Painting, filmmaking, sculpture, photography, and printmaking. As a member of many artistic committees, he took part in the development of the collections of the Bharat Bhavan museum of Bhopal and created the VIEW Vision Exchange Workshop. His work is introspective; his Metascapes or his Mirror Images are abstract images formed from the search for a formal logic. His topics include landscapes, nudes, heads, and he has done portraits created in pencil and charcoal. Provenance: according to the late collector and owner's son, the artwork is a part of the owner's late father's inheritance (Mirza Sami Baig Born, born: July 1, 1949, Hyd, India, passed away in India in 2013), which includes over 2500 artworks from India. The artworks were purchased directly from the artist in India, while Mirza Sami Baig Born made multiple trips to visit the country. Please make all inquiries before bidding.
