Antique Persian Serapi rug was hand knotted in Iran of 100% natural wool on a wool foundation. The rug is at least 130+ years old, has medium to low wool piles and is in excellent condition for its age. This rug was made with excellent quality and is showing almost complete abrash due to the use of antique vegetable dyes. No holes or repairs, nice and soft, with a gorgeous design. This rug was acquired from an established rug merchant. Clean and ready to be enjoyed. Current embargoes against Iranian goods by the U.S. should cause the value of these rugs to increase.
