Torso of a Khmer statue. Angkor Borei or Prakho Chan, 7th - 9th century AD. L 36cm, W 27cm. Dark grey sandstone. Unadorned torso, presumably of the Buddha. Sensual proportions. Arms and lower extremities missing. Neck with corpulent neck rings, the beginnings of a sash ornamented in relief on the lower edge. Modern moulding.
