Khmer bronze of the god Vajrasattva. Angkor period, 12th century AD. H 8.4cm, with stand 13.5cm. Solid cast. The god, embodying the purifying power of enlightenment, is depicted here in the sattvasana (lotus position). Clad in a sarong, with a radiant crown beneath his lotus-like hairstyle, and richly adorned, he holds vajra (scepter) and ghanta (bell). Dark green patina, intact, mounted on a high metallic shimmering base. Khmer-Bronze des Gottes Vajrasattva. Angkor Periode, 12. Jh. n. Chr. H 8,4cm und mit Ständer 13,5cm. Vollguss. Der Gott, die reinigende Kraft der Erleuchtung verkörpernd, ist hier im sattvasana (Lotussitz) dargestellt. Bekleidet mit Sarong, einer Strahlenkrone unter der lotusähnlichen Frisur und reichem Schmuck hält er vajra (Zepter) und ghanta (Glocke).
