Beautiful Khmer bronze of the goddess Uma. Cambodia, 11th - 12th century AD. H 10.6cm and with stand 16.7cm. Solid cast. The goddess, also called Parvati, is the wife of Shiva. She wears an extremely finely pleated sarong around her waist. Her hair is tied in a cone, reminiscent of a lotus bud. Her rich jewelry includes a wide necklace with five large pendants hanging from the back, and bracelets on her upper arms and ankles. In her right hand, she probably held a plant; remnants of the scroll in her left hand have been preserved. Dark green patina, intact except for the missing attribute in the right hand, mounted on a high metallic shimmering base. Schöne Khmer-Bronze der Göttin Uma. Kambodscha, 11. - 12. Jh. n. Chr. H 10,6cm und mit Ständer 16,7cm. Vollguss. Die Göttin, auch Parvati genannt, ist die Gattin von Shiva. Sie trägt um ihre Hüfte einen äußerst fein gefalteten Sarong. Ihre Haare sind zu einem Kegel hochgebunden, der an eine Lotusknospe erinnern soll. Der reiche Schmuck beinhaltet eine breite Halskette, an der hinten fünf große Anhänger hängen, und Reife an Oberarmen und Knöcheln. In der Rechten hielt sie wahrscheinlich eine Pflanze, von der Buchrolle in der Linken sind Reste erhalten.
