Pair of French Porcelain and Gilt Bronze Mounted Lamps, Marked BB S Finely hand-painted French porcelain baluster-form vases mounted as lamps, each decorated with Rococo-style courting scenes on one side and pastoral landscapes on the reverse. The bodies are painted in cream with floral sprays and framed in raised gilt scrollwork. Each fitted with bronze handles in the form of bearded masks, and gilt bronze mounts to base and collar. Underside marked in underglaze blue with interlaced "BB" and "S" mark. Size (excluding sockets): 11 1/2 in. high Condition: Some age-related wear, light soiling, and expected surface abrasions.
