Persian gilt-silver and khatam wooden frame. The margins are richly decorated with alternating cartouches of Islamic vignettes painted in enamel and geometric star medallions. The margins are worked in raised gilt-silver panels that enhance the contrast of texture and color. Khatam marquetry then borders these margins and edges of the frame. Dimensions: 1 1/2 x 16 1/4 x 18 3/4 inches.
