19th Century Russian Icon of the Virgin of Vladimir, Attributed to Pochaev Monastery A finely painted 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon, attributed to the Pochaev Monastery workshop, depicting the revered Virgin of Vladimir (Vladimirskaya). Shown in the Eleusa pose (tenderness), the Virgin presses her cheek to that of the Christ Child in a moment of divine intimacy. The icon is exquisitely detailed, featuring a gilded background, silver crowns on both figures, and surrounding miniature saints characteristic of Pochaev iconography. The piece is set in a velvet-lined mat and a giltwood frame, suitable for devotional use or collection display.
