Dimensions: 11.75 inches tall and 6.5 inches in diameter Condition: The ciborium has scratches, dents, and patina. It does not sit flat. Additional Information: Has a cross topped lid that detaches. The ciborium has scrollwork on the lid, bowl, and base. On the bowl are the letters "INRI" on the front and back. INRI is an abbreviation of the Latin phrase Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum, which translates to "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews." This inscription was ordered by Pontius Pilate and placed on the cross during the crucifixion of Jesus, as recorded in the New Testament. From a German private collection.
