The figures, rendered with expressive postures and varied attributes, appear engaged in a lively procession or courtly scene. The carvings retain extensive traces of gilt decoration, set against a red-lacquered ground, enhancing the visual depth and legibility of the relief. The reverse plain, indicating their original use as architectural or interior decorative panels, possibly from a domestic or temple setting. For lots marked with (R), a 19% VAT is added to the combined hammer price and commission.
