The exterior is covered in a rich, warm yellow glaze, finely incised with a sinuous five-clawed dragon striding amidst scrolling clouds, its scaled body rendered with restrained precision and subtle movement. The incised decoration is delicately executed, appearing softly beneath the glossy glaze and creating a refined tonal contrast characteristic of high-quality monochrome wares. The meiping form, traditionally associated with wine storage and later admired as a display shape, is here enhanced by the imperial yellow ground and the powerful dragon motif, long a symbol of authority, auspicious power, and cosmic order.
