작품 상세
Dimensions: Height 8,5 cm Diameter 50,5 cm Weight 4814 grams The exceptionally large saucer is finely painted to the interior with five sinuous dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls, set amidst scrolling clouds and interspersed with flowering peonies, all reserved on a vibrant yellow ground. The central dragon is rendered in dynamic motion, its scaled body finely detailed in green and iron-red enamels, while the surrounding dragons animate the expansive surface with rhythmic movement. The reverse is decorated in iron-red with further dragons and floral sprays, encircling the unglazed recessed base. The bold use of yellow, traditionally associated with imperial taste, together with the animated dragon imagery, reflects the enduring symbolic language of power, authority, and auspiciousness within the decorative arts of China during the Qing Dynasty.
